Hi,
I buyed Bajaj Pulsar 200NS in 2013 and a Bajaj product for the first time in my life and it was a heck of an experience. First I must say the 200NS is a superb product but very badly manufactured by Bajaj I would recommend go for KTM instead of Bajaj in all cases. The bike is comfortable to ride but the pillion will always suffer. No doubt the engine of 200NS makes the ride more lively and enjoyable. The fuel economy is also good and if ridden in a proper way it can give 40 KM/L in the city and 45 KM/L on highway.
Their is absolutely no competition in the segment of power and pricing and no other manufacturer comes close, but keep in mind that you have to make some sacrifices and compromises in quality. The engine is no doubt very powerful and high tech, its so high tech that no common mechanic can handle it without proper knowledge, theyll just fool you with their tactics just to make money. The engine needs proper tuning and arm rocker need to be adjusted at every service which was never done to my bike and hence a bad experience from service center. My bike used to vibrate a lot RPM above 7000 which was not from the beginning and was never rectified. The chain always got loose within 200 KMS.
I kept the bike for three years and finally get rid of this service headache. Things that I have changed due to bad quality in past three years
Tyres(in 2 years)
Battery(in 2.5 years)
Chain Sprocket Kit(3 Years)
Arm Rocker(2 times in 3 Years)
Side stand indicator(several times in 3 years)
List of things from which I was most disappointed with
fit and finish of the overall bike
worst quality manufactured spare parts
Service related issues
absolutely no qualified technicians available in the market
Finally, most people think Bajaj Pulsar 200NS as bargain but they are actually being fooled by Bajaj over the KTMs. The overall maintenance and running cost is very high and the bike need checkup after every 300 Kms. I was never satisfied by the running condition of this bike because I always wanted it in a genuine condition and whenever it entered in service station things always got worsen. Finally I had to service it myself, Im for sure in one thing that Ill never buy a Bajaj product in my life. Good riddance.!
