All - I need suggestion, is this VFM or not. I had gone thru all the reviews, well some of them are emotionally written, but overall I feel I should buy the bike. But here is what surprised me. I went to local dealer other day to get Quote and he asked me 99k odd for on road price.
But when I am about to leave he gave me free advise (you do not hear such thing from small dealer generally ) which is, Seems the parts are not available in abundance and will take lot of time to get one if necessary. So in case you happen to replace the parts post purchase, you might end up days or months together, this made me to think whether to go-head and book or Not.
So looking out for some suggestions. 1-Aug-2013: I went to Bajaj showroom, in Kondapur and asked for NS200. I got reply that bike is not available, the people (sales guys and some manager) seems not at all interested in my request.
No one really seems to care about it, for 10min. As if we(me and my wife) came to their showroom requesting for something for free. Then after a while some old man comes and informs me below-
1) There is no stock, since bajaj is planning for some redesign or putting some extra guard kind of thing under the engine.
So they have STOPPED the production of NS 200 for a while and we might have to wait for time, which is even not known to this fellow. 2) Since they are going to put this extra piece of (something) under the engine, which I thought is some kind of engine guard, they the bike might cost more than what is quoted (ex-showroom of 87 odd k, so on road is definitely more then 1lac.
3) Out of necessity he gave me 10min and completed is conversation and was expecting me to leave. I came back to office thinking why I took permission to visit this showroom, which later I felt was mistake. I called other Bajaj showrooms in Hyderabad, and enquired about this NS 200 re-design.
They informed me that nothing of that sort is planned, and whatever that person (Kondapur, Hyderabad showroom) was telling is just an excuse.
There is some strike and stock is not available. I said enough is enough, I thought for a day, read the reviews about KTM, took permission from my home department to spend extra 50K, and booked KTM Duke 200 black today.
You can say that KTM is being marketed by Bajaj only, but I did test drive today (KTM 200) and TRUST ME GUYS, its different machine, and if you can afford , the extra, that you end up paying is definitely worth it, and cannot be compared with BAJAJ NS 200.
I will come up with my review for KTM So this is my end of review for Bajaj NS 200, hope some one from Bajaj is seeing this review.
