Beast at an affordable price

True to its branding, the Pulsar 200 NS manages to give a tough street fighter look. The power delivery is so linear, you just twist the throttle and there it goes leaving all folk behind. It has two personalities to it.

One is the commuter, it feels like any other 150 cc bike when driving below 60 and 5000 rpm but with lot of acceleration. Now cross the 60 and 5000 rpm, the beast awakens and you are totally in another world now.

The brakes are good. The gearbox is the best while you are up-shifting whereas it gets stuck sometimes when you downshift, some point to improve for Bajaj.

The switches are good but least accessible while you are using the clutch. The instrument panel has all essential displays. The glowing Bajaj logo is there to remind you that you are riding Indian made, so don’t expect Japanese quality, fit and finish. The plastic quality is good, not the best. The suspension is stable and does not loose stance when driven hard into potholes and bumps.

Finally, the most important aspect for Indians, mileage. I am getting 40.36 km/l in heavy Bangalore traffic and little highway ride.

One piece of advice: Get a Bajaj only if a service center is near your place, it will be required to adjust brake discs when they are out of alignment, vibrations that may creep in at any point in time. They were out of alignment every 100 km creating noise while breaking.
