\ am the owner of the Pulser 180 UG3 Edition since December 2006, I bought the bike from Deedi bajaj, Trivandrum- Kerala. At the time of booking the dealer had assured me the delivery with in a week, but for my badluck(as they said) it took around three weeks for them to make the delivery.Anyway I understand their problem, since it is normal to take that much time when the demand was that high.
What I feel about the bike- Definitely its a feast for ones eye and the maker has done so much to give it that look, At the same time , am sure that bajaj has compromised on the quality of the materials and parts. My bike has started developing rust on the silencer assembly in the 4th month after the purchase. Also the quality of the parts used is much bad compared to those in my friends bike, which is a 2005 last model(He had the complaint that the parts of his bike are of lower quality compared to the earlier ones-but after trying mine, he has nothing to say).
Again there are problems like water-clogging inside the tank-lid-which inturn leads to the rusting of the fuel tank.moreover the parts like digital panel are just a showoff-features like the fuel guages never gives an idea of what we have got in the tank. Also the performance of the engine-i have nothing good to say about that. The milage I am getting is around 42-46kmpl.also reagrding the gear-shift, It goes smooth if I keep the engine rpm at /around 4K.One of my colleagues, who bought the new Pulser 150, with the new 1down-4up gear shift pattern is now complaining about the gear problem. He has done the 1st service 2-weeks back.Gear slips down to 4th whenever he tries to drive on the 5th gear.Initially the problem was intermittent, but now it has become a very regular head ache.
Now I cant say anything about the painting, am looking forward to find it fading, i expect that in no time.
To be upfront, I might not have had the thought of buying this bike come to my mind, in case I waited for atleast 1 month after the release of this edition. For the price I have paid, they have given me something that is not at all worth the money-That is, Rs.66000-incl. of tax and insurance
because of my sore experiance, one of my friends went for the CBZ extreame, and another for the unicorn.
These problems like rusting, water-clogging etc may not seem to be that big problem, but in the long run, it will eat your ear.and you will not be able to do anything about that.
I know that , i am going to pay for the bad choice I have made-but my frank advice on the product is that -NEVER BUY THE LATER VERSIONS OF BAJAJ BIKES.
wishing myself a nicetime ahead
