This is my first review on bajaj bikes. So I elected the most famous bajaj bike The Pulsar 150dtsi. I reminds those days when in school I saw a new round headlamp bajaj having a big monster fuel tank. I really like this bike at that time but from rear it looks tiny at those days. But I think it was the best bike from bajaj as the quality was awesome. Now I will talk precedes of PULSAR-
PULSAR 150 : It was the first pulsar . It have classical round headlamp as in caliber. The best engine of capacity 150cc with 12.8 BHP. It gives the mileage of 35-40km/l. The main feature was its speed as it can tick up to 120km/h mark on the odo. The great acceleration have beaten the legend of Hero Honda CBZ. The problem was quality of spares.It have a bulky gearbox, very roared sound engine and thin 3.00 18 tires compare to CBZ have 100/90 18" tires. Silencer was build by a good steal.
PULSAR 150 DTS-I: The new upgraded version have tweaked engine same as old but with DIGITAL TWINSPARK IGNITION technology which have increases the power and mileage of the bike. But Till now it have round headlamp which looks odd now. mileage was 45-50km/l but a top speed of 115km/h. It have to work hard to tick 120km/h only by a good rider. Comfort level was awesome.
PULSAR 150 DTS-I: The bike was refined some and gave some quality and look by giving a beautiful headlight. Now it looks refreshed. It was now 13.1bhp. It have got new mag wheels of 17" and have a size of 100/90 broader tires. The mileage was same as 45-50km/l. Now again lack of top speed and pick than older. now its speed was 112km/h because of headlight stops the air. a good rider can tick it up to 115-117km/h. Then new pulsar with black theme was introduced but I personally dont like it.
NEW PULSAR 150 DTS-I: Now bajaj have changed it by some aspect and introduced its new avatar with sharp LED tail lamp and modified head light. it was now 14bhp. It rocks from front but from rear it does not look such bold as previous was.It was no more Definitely male. The engine was refined and gave a mileage of 45-55 km/l and a top speed of 95-105km/h. now it only name to buy it. no performance comes. with pillion you can hardly touch 100km/h mark. It was a very skillful job to touch 105km/h on this bike. Old pulsar can beat it very easily. A Old pulsar 150 can beat pulsar180dts-i. very bad only mileage increase not speed. It have a smooth engine and digital instruments but lacks in top speed. For which the pulsar was known that was speed .That is no more. It also have included side panels on fuel tanks like pulsar 200dts-i to maintain its aerodynamics but what bajaj think about speed. My friend have bought the new PULSAR but he cant touch more then 93km/h.To make it fast he have to lean on handle bars to go up uo 105km/h.The silencer was very bad quality as it got leaked in 1 year. No pulsar you can see after 1 year who have not worn its silencer.
It was my story about pulsar 150 dts-i. The legend in 150cc segment. I will always miss my queen old 150 pulsar who can do everything on the roads with less power on paper. I expect new Pulsar generation will be good if bajaj thinks deeply about it. I think now bajaj is only concentrating on mileage. Please do something for performance.
