Had been to Dilwale yesterday and today Bajirao Mastani. Bajirao Mastani must be watched in the theatres unlike Dilwale. Its a periodic drama, which one might find a little lengthy, moving at a very slow pace, classic Sanjay Leela Bhansali style. The dialogues are quite decent, takes time to be understood.
The film repeats time and again that religion should not be a barrier for love. Deepika in the role of Mastani is sheer brilliance in the movie. Her entry is very Relishing as she attacks Bajirao’s camp. Priyanka in the role of Kashibai, brings out the character with great finesse and grace. Ranveer Singh in the role of the Peshwa ruler Bajirao, could have done better, his role isn’t that convincing. The songs Pinga and Diwani Mastani are equally gracious as the two leading ladies, other songs are good too.
If you love History and periodic drama, you’ll love the movie or else you may just feel the movie is a never ending, lengthy one. But it is a must watch movie.
