I am not a very big Salman Khan fan, because I love Shah Rukh Khan. But I had to go to watch Bajrangi Bhaijaan for my best friend. She adores and is in love with Salman Khan. Not that I don’t like Salman or hate him. I am just not very fond of him…(I have seen most of his movies in theatres….! More Than I have watched SRK’s movies - Reason – My BFF loves Salman)
Why I am doing this review? This is because I am not a Salman Fan and my review on this movie will be my Honest Opinion.
Cast: Salman Khan, Harshaali Malhotra(Munni, the li’l girl not the one who became badnaam, just kidding), Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Kareena Kapoor Khan
The movie is a little over the top dramatic in some parts but it is entertaining(has to be), emotional and winning the hearts of people type off movie. There are those special Salman effect in the movie – the weird dance step that goes viral by the crowd. But yes unlike any Salman movies it isn’t the one without any sense at all. This movie is a sensible movie.
The movie starts with the stunning shots of Kashmir. Now, people who might be thinking, “Kashmir isn’t Pakistan” Well there are a bunch of Kashmiris who are cheering for Afridi and not Tendulkar, so that’s how we all know that it is Pakistan. So there’s this ardent Shahid Afridi fan that is pregnant and when asked what she will name her kid if it’s a girl – and the movie now goes towards Harshaali Malhotra, Shahida. This girl is super cute and silent.
The little girl is lost when her mother brings her to India. Salman Khan aka Pawan Kumar Chautrvedi aka Bajrangi enters the plot with a bang and gives a song out for all the Instagram Lovers(like me) – Selfie Le. After the entire song he notices that there’s a cute & mute girl who is following him. She follows him everywhere. This is where the cuteness of the movie begins.
Pawan lives in Delhi with his late father’s friend and family. There comes Rasika aka Kareena Kapoor Khan aka “Miss. Really not to be seen in the movie”. She is the daughter of the late father’s friend and is in love with Salman. So there are twists and turn when Shahida aka Munni aka Harshaali Malhotra become a part of their life. Pawan is from a proper ‘Vegetarian Brahmin household’ and so is Rasika and her family, on the other hand Shahida cannot eat food that has just greens. Finally the Indian Family and Pawan realizes that the girl they thought till now is just Muslim is not JUST Muslim, she is from Pakistan. And so Pawan has decided to take Munni to her hometown – Pakistan.
After some really cute / unrealistic scenes of Pawan and Munni crossing the border, comes the best character of the movie - Nawazuddin Siddiqui. He is a struggling Pakistani Reporter.
All-in-all, this movie is all about Bhaichaara between the two countries. The movie is really a must watch because it is not the usual Salman Khan Movie.
