Bala Viday Mandir was started by Balammal, who used her Provident Fund money to start the school for children of Gandhi Nagar.
It was started with the name: Bala Brindavan. It was latter changed into Vidya mandir(adyar).
The management was handed over to Shri. Srinivasa Rao, who was then the Chairman of Solidaire India ltd.,
Now it is managed by his son Shri.Ramaprasad, who is credited with closing down his father’s legacy, Solidaire India limited. The company was closed.
He was taken to court for defaulting payment to a Nationalised Bank. Now he is running the school with profit motive, totally defeating the purpose for which the school was started.
Basically the school has the following pro’s and con’s
They have very good tradition and systems, which inspite of all their weaknesses, is helping them to survive.
No play ground nor proper playing facilities.
No importance to PTM
Over crowding class room
Inadequate toilet to students ratio.
Construction without approval from corporation
They have converted a NON- PROFIT ENTITY to a Corporate company, diluting the foundation on which the school was built.
Management making money through Robotics centre( non accounted in school), sale of note books, contract without any competitive tenders, building capital item for their use like car for committee memebrs and their wifes etc.,
Play school in school auditorium without any proper facilities for them . it is one big hall without even any basic facilities with bad ceiling.
Lost lot of Bala Vidya Mandir school money by investing in a new venture called "BVM Global" with MARG group of companies. The project has failed and they had lost huge amount of money running into several tens of lakhs. It is money drawn from Bala Vidya Mandir, which is non profit organisation.
