I am a Keralite and I had to re locate to Mumbai for work. Since I have come to Mumbai I havent had a single decent South Indian meal until last week when I discovered Banana Leaf.
The restaurant is quite nice. In Mumbai, most of the South Indian restaurants are shady and run off the mill but Banana Leaf is very sophisticated and classy. The staff here was very humble and gracious and they instantly made me feel at home.
The food was outstanding. I devoured the Thoran, Aviyal with Pulicha Sadham and Banana Appam. I absolutely enjoyed my experience and I think Banana Leaf is going to become my regular haunt, especially on days when I miss a good, traditional and authentic South Indian meal.
