If you watch even a little TV, you will know that the current favorites (Read TRP grosser) are 2 serials Balika Vadhu (On Colors) & Bidaai (Star Plus). Both these serials have not only grossed the high TRP’s but have also made their channels move ahead in this fierce competition.
When I first saw the promo of “Bandini” on NDTV Imagine, the setting of the serial & characters looked quite impressive. Therefore, out of curiosity I decided to watch one of the initial episodes.
The story is set in a small village in Gujrat & revolves around Santu - A Village girl from lower caste who gets married to the MAALIK – The rich tycoon from upper caste. Though there is nothing new in the story, as similar stories have been created earlier also on Inidian TV & we all know that eventually they will fall in love. The difference is in the setting of the story, the actors & this time the story has a social message of caste.
Now the most surprising fact about this serial for me was that it is by BALAJI PRODUCTIONS, from what I have heard Ekta Kapoor sticks to the “K” factor for all her serials. But, looks like that she has finally learned something from the success of Bidaai & Balika Vadhu.
Not only has she copied the first letter of the serial’s name, she has also integrated a social issue in her serial. All The Best Ekta Kapoor, hope the “B” works as well as “K”!
