I am not sure if anyone else has an issue with this. While I really appreciate that at least there is an means to pay online, I am not able to understand the concept of 1% additional charge for paying online at Bescom or Bangaloreone site. I can pay every mobile bill or BSNL bill online without any additional charge. For that matter even property tax (Bangalore One) doesn’t have any additional charge. BSNL even rewards for paying immediately!
I did little bit of research, and you can save on this 1% by registering yourself at https://visabillpay.in or through your banking/credit card websites. All was well for past 1 year and suddenly Bescom introduces the RAPDRP system and now all the bill presentment and payment options you had earlier set up, has gone for a toss. What this means is, you have no other option, but pay only thru Bescom or Bangaloreone.
They need to get rid of this surcharge and offer similar payment options like any other utility company does (airtel, bsnl, traffic fines etc). Afterall online payment is saving the country a lot of money (maintaining payments counters & support people, cheques & paperwork, delays etc).
