In an age where most government organisations are trying to turn citizen friendly, we have the famous Bangalore Eletricity Supply Company (BESCOM) trying desperately to prove that private players in power distribution are a must.
Take a look at this. - BESCOM reads its meters on the 28th of every month and sends the bills to customers on the 10th of every months (most usually later than this) - You have to pay by the 14th of the month ; naturally the queues ensure that you have to stand there for at least an hour on a good day. And you have to go to your subdivision to make that payment - you cant pay anywhere else. -
You dont even have the choice of paying late, because even if you come one day later their computer system will not accept that payment and it will be accounted as arrears for the next month - Did I hear someone say online payment ? Well the only online payment you can do is through Bill Junction - and if you have wrong bills every month, it is a useless system. - The staff are generally rude, Ill informed and non communicative Bring in private power players, PLEASE! I BEG YOU !
