I would like to share my experience at the PSK Sai Arcade (Outer Ring Road). I wanted to get the passport done for my son who is a minor. Some colleagues in my office told me that for Minor there is no appointment, I went thru the website and found that some categories including senior citizens and minors are not required to take appointments.
I talked to an agent and he said appointment is mandatory for all. Anyways I took a chance - prepared every document advised on the website and visited the PSK Sai Arcade. I was prepared to see throngs of people and be thrown out. I actually asked my wife to wait inside the car with my son to save the ignominy. Next thing my wife noted after 5 minutes that I came back running ’ Its true..we dont need an appointment’. What followed after that was one of the best experiences. To name a few:
Organized queue for sorting out documents
In case you didn’t take 2 copies of the documents - a photocopier right next to you
Display monitors in the waiting lounge
Clean toilets (yes, it was a luxury because last time when I had visited Koramanagala office, I had to walk 500 mtrs to find the right place to relieve myself. The toilet in that compound was was in , and up state.)
Coffee shop
No middlemen in the vicinity
Overall, a great experience. I entered the PSK at 9:20 and by 10:30 I was out with ’passport granted’ status. Kudos to the RPO Bangalore.
