Good but they have their own limitations

Bangalore is a huge city with people coming in from all parts of India.

The traffic cops have their hands full dealing with 17 lakh plus vehicles in town.

Vehicle owners especially the

ones owning the latest shiny 4 stroke are by and large irresponsible, with no common sense and with a big death wish.

90% of Bangaloreans dont know how to ride or drive, or when to use their dippers at night. Women are the worst offenders.

A cops education is very basic. I know for sure that a cop with 20 years experience gets paid Rs.6000. Thats not enough even to maintain 2 people in this city. It is but natural that a cop feels that the world has it in for him, that he too deserves more money, that his kids should go to posh schools and wear good clothes.

Peoples lack of understanding of the human angle to this is responsible for the hatred to which the Bangalore police have also brought upon themselves.

As far as the question of harsh and unfair to north indians is concerned, there is no better way for a cop to speak to the bone heads from up north (my best friend is from Uttar Pradesh but he was educated in Bangalore so he’s okay!!!). Its the only language they understand.

Drive carefully, follow the rules, make sure all your documents including insurance, licence and emission are inorder and no cop can do anything to you.

Learn to show respect to people, including cops and they will warm up to you.

Also you cant just say cops are not doing a good job. Bangalore is one of the safest places you can live in.

To keep the city safe they may step on a few toes. Thats okay.

In my opinion the city desperately needs a town planner. They ought to do away with the dividers, which tend to create bottlenecks on one side. They oughta fix all the medians and all the road intersections have to planned and redesigned scientifically.

Some similar progress is already happenning in Bombay, but we in bangalore need it and fast.

Cheers all.
