My son's admission to NHPS-A good experience

We have been reading various reviews about this school and found Dhayan’s review the most balanced.

Our son will begin nursery from June 09 onwards at NHPS. We are actually surprised to read about the Rs1.6 lac donation demand and demand for computers etc. Frankly, we didn’t experience any such hassles and nor did the other parents we’ve been interacting with since we met them during the interview stage. Even the interview process was smooth. We didn’t have to wait for very long as the schedules were very well planned. We were told well ahead what time our appointment was, and they kept their word with the time.

Of course, we did have to pay Rs.62, 000 (includes admission fee) during admissions and we will have to pay an additional amount for the second half fees. We do agree with Dhayan that the annual fee comes to around Rs.30, 000. The fee structure is comparable to other schools such as NPS.

We know of several people who send their children to NHPS and are overall happy with the school (excepting for issues that Dhayan has pointed out). We are the kind who believe no school is perfect, and this holds good for the best of schools! It’s up to us as parents to monitor our children and help them inculcate the best from schools and also help them understand aspects/behaviors that they should ignore and avoid.

We also agree that half of the staff we’ve interacted with are stern-faced at NHPS. Our experience however has been no different in the various other schools we’ve checked out. Most are all uniformly stern-faced. This is no yardstick to judge a school by. If it is, then there are very few schools you can get your child admitted to.

From all the pre-admission info that we gathered about schools in Bangalore, we figured that NHPS is balanced in the culture that the kids are exposed to, the balance of academic and extracurricular activities and also the overall atmosphere that the kids are exposed to. We are especially impressed by their ’Gurukul’ concept where kids are trained in yoga and get to spend time in a stress-free, beautiful environment. Few schools we know have made an investment in such an infrastructure that resembles a ’Gurukul’.

Hope this clarifies the doubts of people who are still doubtful. We are looking forward to our experience with NHPS.

Cheers,

Ramya and Sandeep
