Well its been a few months that I have to B’LORE but I have already fallen in love with the place.There is something very special about BANGaLORE that whosoever comes to the place does not want to leave it.I’ld say BANGALORE is the best city to live in India coz it is kind of a complete city, the weather is great, people are nice and friendly, there are good educational institutes, all big and renowned high-tech Industries and companies are based here and most importantly life in B’lore isn’t very fast, B’lore has a very cosmopolitan outlook and there are all kinds of people here from all over the world and everyone can well adjust here.Since I am still new to B’lore and exploring the place..i’ld write all I know, like or dislike about the place.
The best thing about the city is undoubtedly the CLIMATE.....it is heavenly.It is not the extreme types, like say in Lucknow or Delhi, where the summer and winters are unbearable.The day is normally very pleasant and the nights are cool though when it rains it becomes really chilly and that is the time when you have to take out your blankets and quilts.B’lore is the place for all seasons and that is why there are tourist all throughout the year here.B’lore climate is just perfect...no shivering and no sweating.
The other thing I loved in B’lore is the FOOD...it is absolutely delicious esp the mouth-watering BIRYANI of NAGARJUNA’S and BHEEMA.If you come to B’lore you just cannot afford to miss it.For South Indian food you can check out UDIPPI, SUKH SAGAR, MAYURI and all other sagar outlets and NORTH INDIAN food is best available at QUEEN’S and TANDOORI.There are lotsa good fast food joints here(KFC, PIZZA CORNAR, PIZZA HUT, EBONY)and Coffee shops like BARISTA and Coffee cafe Day.For sweets you can check out KC DAS or ANAND’s and and for ICE-CREAM you can check out CORNAR HOUSE.
As for the MARKETS.....i won’t call B’lore a shopper’s paradise but you do get some good stuff here.There are pretty good places to shop here, COMMERCIAL STREET, C.M.H ROAD, LIFESTYLE, BOMBAY STORES, MAJESTIC, SHOPPERS STOP.....being some of the most popular ones.And if you wanna do window shopping and hang around with friends then BRIGADE and M.G ROAD are the place for you, what with all big showrooms, cinema halls, Pubs, eating joints...here and also the best crowd.But ideally i’ld not recommend Brigade or MG Road for shopping coz they are pretty expensive.My fav place to shop in B’lore is Commercial street, it is a lot like Lajpat nagar.....you get all kind of stuff here and can also do bargaining.
The PEOPLE in B’lore are pretty nice , freindly and good people to interact with.But at the same time they mind their own buisness and do not interfere in the lives or matters of others.And that is one thing I like about them.
As for the places to visit...B’lore does not offer much to the visitors coz there aren’t many tourist spots here.Though some of the places you could visit are BANGALORE Palace and fort, Lal Bagh(BOTANICAL GARDENS, though it is in a terrible mess now), Iskon Temple, Cubbon Park, Ulsoor Lake AND Vidhan Soudha.There are a lotsa good places near B’lore to visit(OOTY, MYSORE, MADURAI, RAMESHWARAM) but for that you have to plan a proper holiday.
Now on the flip side.....language is certainly a problem in B’lore coz majority of the population either speak in their local language or english here, so hindi is ruled out.....and the sad thing is people here do not even make an attempt to speak the language.C’mmon people atleast make an effort to speak the lang. Then , there is absolutely no night life in B’lore( though it does not matter to me), so those who love to party will be dissapointed.And also I feel due to the increasing population and traffic...B’lore has become populated like other cities.
But then no place is perfect or for that matter nothing is perfect.There re good and bad points about every place and people.So i’ld say B’lore is a great place to be in and for those who haven’t visited the city.....do come here coz the place is really worth it.
