Guhantara Resorts is fast becoming a famous name on the lips of people in Bangalore who want to take a weekend break. It is a new resort themed on prehistoric cave dwellings.
Of course the concept and the ambiance are such that one has to visit this place at least once and experience the amazing architecture and theme.
But like all places looking to get famous and get rich quickly, this resort too has given in to temptation without a caring about valid bookings that was made well in advance.Yes, a booking was made in this resort well in advance and the booking was confirmed too.
But then suddenly some high profile person came along and decided that he wanted to stay in that resort or have a party there, and decided to book the entire resort. What any normal self respecting and customer respecting hotel management would have then done is to inform that big party that a few rooms had already been booked and that they could use the rest of the rooms.
But instead, they decided to cancel the bookings already made without even consulting with the affected party and gave away the resort to this large party. Now this affected party had to go and make reservations elsewhere at the last minute. Is this how someone in the hospitality sector treates a guest?I had always wanted to go to this place, but now I am thinking twice about it.
Why if I make plans to visit this place and then suddenly they decide that they will give away the booking to someone who can bring them more customers and give them more money. So these days, if you want to stay in a resort, you have to have political or business clout, it seems.I am extremely disappointed with this place and I would urge everyone not to visit this place and teach the money hungry hotel management and promoters a lesson on how to respect their customers.
I especially urge visitors from outside Bangalore to exercise caution, as if your hotel reservation is cancelled, then you will be unable to find a reservation elsewhere on such short notice and you would then literally be on the streets.
