I happened to read a review posted by Corbett today. It is a shame, a developing country such as India is ruled by uneducated police force! They should be sent to school to learn english before they are appointed in the force.Imagine a high officail as Sub Inspector asks for bribes for gas money as well as do not want to speak in English? Was that country ruled by British once upon a time till 1945 or so? I am glad I do not live in that country, though I visited India twice in 30 years. I had been to Bangalore in July of 2006. I was well treated by the hotel staff in Bangalore. I was in Bangalore only for two days enroute to Kerala. I was very impressed by the treatments I have received in Goa Resort where I stayed for 7 days. Funny thing I noticed in Goa was, they can take 8 passengers in a small ambassador car. But if you are a tourist, only 4 are allowed. Unfortunately we were 5 people and have to take two taxis to go to our resort from the Train station to Royal Goan Beach Resort.
I was asking questions in English to the taxi driver in Bangalore and they could speak as good an english like their own language Kannada. Why dont the Bangalore Government hire these english speaking Taxi drivers to the Post of Sub Inspectors and sent the Sub Inspectors to learn English in the Taxi stands and learn how hard is to make a living. Do the Bangalore Government hire people from the street and gave a high position without salary and give them just the Uniform to make money from the poor victims as salaries? Must be a very corrupt Nation.I hope this review will be read by a hundred million people around the world.
