Bank of Baroda has been the oldest bank I have been associated with and me and my entire family bears an account in this prestigious bank. It has been almost 10 years since I have an account here. This being a Government bank gives me an assurance of my money and I feel that my money is in safe hands. As other Government banks, the interest rates of this bank as well is lower than other private banks but the minimum amount one can deposit or hold in this savings account is as low as INR 1000. It takes about a day to open an account and to validate the details today but the thing that is lacking in this bank is the latest technology as they do not offer a good online banking system and features due to which I do not use this bank account for net banking and online shopping. The banking facilities as well are bit slow and when I had to claim my mom’s money who had expired and I was the nominee of that account, I was asked for filling many forms and submitting my birth certificate and the death certificate and two copies of my photograph to claim the amount which was very small and it took about a week for me to claim the amount. The staff and employees of this bank are not polite while addressing the queries of a customer and often when I asked them to solve my issues and explain me a procedure of opening a locker in the bank, they speak very rudely and do not help me out. I find the working operation of the employees very lazy and non-cooperative and hence only use my ATM card to deposit or to withdraw money from the bank as to update my passbook, I need to wait in a long line to get it updated and it takes about 30-45 minutes for this. The bank had opened a machine for this procedure but the machines stopped working and another customer’s passbook got stuck in the machine and got destroyed. They should work on these issues as it really helps and saves time of the customers. The bank does not even offer a good demat service due to which I have not demated my shares in this bank.
