So I visted BANK OF BARODAs branch in DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, which is the main HQ Branch to open an NRI account as I wanted to deposit "significant" funds to GOA, and decided to go with Bank of Baroda as they recently been aggresively advertising as "Indias International Bank" and had a nice website.
I was asked to go to the "NRI SERVICES" counter by the reception, I waited in a long queue of people, when my turn came in, I sat down, the employee suddenly got up with no mention of anything or explanation and disappeared for 15 minutes. After the 15 minute wait, the employee comes to me and asks me what I want, I ask her that I want details about NRI deposit account, you know what I was told? exactly the following words " OH I DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT NRI/NRE ACCOUNTS" and continued with some paper work ignoring my existence. in the exact same context, very rude and unprofessional behavior. and it says right above her "NRI SERVICES DEPARTMENT" what a joke?! I didnt know whether to laugh or land my fist on her face.
Being a very tolerant man and respectful to women, I simply got up ignored it(she didnt give a damn btw) and went to the manager, he was nice enough to give me some details about their NRI services but also clueless for the most part. Which then I realized that im not gonna get anywhere here, and thought that my money wont be safe, so I wrapped it up and left the bank as soon as I can, never to return(ever again).
I just want to say to Bank of Baroda, that I am Extremely disappointed with the un professional and very low standard of customer service and employee behavior at BOB, especially in an "international branch" like Dubai.i also would like to add for a bank that goes by the motto of "indias international bank" this is unacceptable, with this sort of attitude you will never make it in the global scene especially with many banks coming up in India.
you just lost a customer who was gonna deposit 80 Lakh rps.
