Wastage of time...

I know bansal classes were the most famous coaching centre of kota but with time the quality of education givenn there has reduced. I had joined bansal classes in 2011 and I find the facilities given by them very unsatisfactory. Our syllabus was covered in time, regular tests were not arranged in a proper way, students were not given proper attention, query sessions were not organized properly and many other problems. My cousin also joined it and he also found it unsatisfactory and then took admission in allen classes. The main reason of detoriation of bansal classes was ill administration and the shifting of best faculty of bansals to allen classes. A test was conducted before giving me admission. The test is conducted to align the students into various classes according to their ranks. If a student scores very high marks then he would be given best batch. Direct admissions without any entrance test is also given there, but in that case you will get lowest batch. The importance of a high or a good batch is that best faculty of the institute is provided to that batch. At that time four types of classes used to run. first type was of students of 11th class, then 2nd type was for 12th class students, third for droppers after 12th class and fouth type of class was for students who had given iit jee twice and who are now eligible only for niit and other colleges. I joined bansal classes after my 12th class. As I was not a below average student so I got lowest batch. My class timings were from 7:45am to 12:30pm. Every class was of one and half hour and a break of 15mins was given after every class. The core syllabus was covered in this time period and less important topics were covered in extra classes decided by the teacher. For example topics like trigonometry, solutions of triangles, hydrostatics, hydromechanics, s bock p block d block and f block. Most of the time these extra classes were taken by a bad teacher who never covered it properly. So in this way many topics were ruined.

We were given a DPP i.e daily practice problems but it was rarely discussed in class. No solutions of DPPs were provided.

With the completion of any topic a booklet of important questions was provided, but it was also never discussed in a proper way. Solutions of the booklet was also not provided which was a very negative thing to happen to children.

In the starting months the syllabus was covered very slowly and when in the month of December it seemed that a lot of syllabus is left uncovered then the teachers started teaching in a very casual and rough way just in order to complete the whole syllabus.

In the months of july to December extra classes were rarely conducted but from January to march the students were asked to attend classes from 7:45am to 9:30pm only giving little breaks in between those classes which was very hard task to do.

In basal classes there was no attendance system. A student can fill the fees and never attend a single class, nobody cared about that. Because of lack of attendance system most of great students also become careless there and stop attending classes and even their parents don’t get to know about it. There should be a check on every student and if any student go against it then his or her parents should be consulted.

Some topics like thermodynamics was taught for 3months continuously very deeply which was not required. Teachers must teach only according to the syllabus to the point otherwise it leads to a lot of wastage of precious time of the student.

So in this way my experience of being a student of bansal classes was not so good. I think before taking admission in any coaching centre one should interact with the students who have studied in that coaching institute. One must also check the quality of faculty in that coaching institute. Parents must consider the moral system of that institute. in as per my knowledge allen institute is better than bansal classes. all the very best for your exam.
