Yes, its Barclays bank Credit card. Yupeeeeeeee.... three cheers for Barclays Bank. You are delighted to know that Barclays bank got three more awards. They are:
1) Best Money looters award.
2) Never sending the bills in time(sometimes never sent only) award
3) Worst Customer service award.
I am using three banks credit cards: Barclays, Citibank, & HSBC. I have Shoppers Stop Citibank card So I only use that card when I am doing shopping in Shoppers stop. I am very happy with HSBC card(I am using this card from past two years.) But Barclays, naaaa... I am going to cancel that card once they reimburse (if they do) the extra money they charged from me for nothing.
My experience with Barclays card goes like this:
I took this card in December 2007. Used that card. Suddenly I needed to go to onsite for 10 days. In a hurry I forgot to pay my credit card bill. By the time I came back, my last date to pay my bill was over. So they charged me the late pay fees (Fair enough). My billing date is from 3rd to 2nd of every month & I need to pay the amount by 22nd of every month. On May 2nd (My Billing Date), I called Barclays bank customer care & asked them my outstanding balance as I thought to pay the bill same day. They told me my outstanding amount. I paid that amount, but due to my mistake, I paid Rs. 11.22 less coz I heard the amount incorrectly. I dint recieved the bill for that month & no one called me also & I dint know that also that I paid Rs.11.22. On 25th of May, they gave me a call & told me that since I have not paid Rs.11.22, they charged me Rs. 118 as late fee... Wow a fine of Rs. 118 on the bill of Rs. 11.22 & that too after paying 99% of my bill in time.... I called them & blasted on them but no use.... I had to pay them Rs. 129.22. So on 21st of June I paid online an amount of Rs. 150. (One day before my last day). This month, again they charged me late fees. When I called them & asked, they said " Sir, you made late payment last time. Hence the late fees." I told them I paid in time & if they are in doubt, they can check the records. They checked & told me, "Sir its correct you paid in time, but we recieved the payment after the last date hence the late charges". What the hell, if Bank is getting the money late, thats none of my business. Why should I be charged. But they are not ready to reimburse my amount.
Pros: Nothing absolutely nothing.
Cons: Rude Customer care executives, third class service (Actually no service at all), Charging unnecessarily, Hell lots of hidden charges, No manners on how to talk to talk to customers.
