Not new but well-executed sweet enjoyable flick

Bareilly Ki Barfi is a 2 hour fun with little hindrances in the way. The story is about a small-town girl, like other movies past these weeks, Bitti Mishra from Bareilly who is not as small town girl. She smokes, drinks and does break dance on her terrace. And due to her this kind of behavior, she is not getting any’Rishta’ for marriage, making her parents worry.

One day she finds a novel of the same name of the movie, and she thinks the writer will understand her as the character of Barfi in the novel is very identifiable to her. Then the other characters Pritam Vidrohi and Chirag takes the plot further to finish it as a sweet well-executed love triangle finally. And one thing to mention, the film is narrated by Javed Akhtar.

The performances are one of the best things on which the movie shines. I loved the Pritam Vidrohi and Mr. Mishra played by Raj Kumar Rai and Pankaj Tripathi respectively. Raj Kumar Rai is awesome and at his bests. Ayushman Khurana and Kirti Sanon are ok. One thing that consistently seems unconvincing is Kirti’s accent. Her accent just couldn’t fit in the almost authentic setup.

Music is average. Nothing to shout about. The album is packed with some good melodies with some peppy party numbers like them all. Sometimes they even irritate only contributing to the length of the film rather than the story.

The cinematography is dandy. The film looks good visually, and the setup looks authentic.

On the whole, it’s an enjoyable venture even when you find nothing new in the movie.
