Its high time we had a coffee place in Delhi where you could go to chill out with a great cup of coffee. Its not exactly Central Perk of New York, as in, theres no comfy couch that you and your friends can lie around on, but otherwise its ambience is very pleasing and inviting.
The first thing Barista offers you is an overpowering aroma of freshly-brewed coffee the moment you open the door, which Im told is absolutely yummy(I, myself, am not a coffee-lover) Its brightly-lit, with comfortable chairs, and small tables. There are chess-sets available for fans of the sport. There is also a notice-board for visitors to post opinions, suggestions and messages for friends and loved-ones...this provides for entertaining reading ;)
Barista offers a wide variety of classic and contemporary coffee flavours. But I have to insert here a word of caution--the titles may sound very tempting but you really should make sure you know exactly what you are ordering, and how you are supposed to drink it. Just the other day, my friend ordered something called the tall, dark and handsome (cute, huh?) and was rewarded with a lilliputian cup containing not more than one sip of what looked like a mixture of water and sand!! Only after adding two sachets of regular sugar and one sachet of caramelised sugar could he drink the vile concoction. And, trust me, it was not a pleasant experience.
There is also a delicious range of cool and refreshing sodas, shakes and the like. Also available are goodies like buns, doughnuts and cakes. May I take the liberty to recommend the chocolate excess cake, with or without a scoop of ice-cream, as you please. True to its name, it definitely tilts towards excesses...it is the softest, most delicious, melt-in-your-mouth chocolate cake you could ever have had the good fortune to taste. This one item on the menu makes the trip to Barista worth its while.
