My favourites

I visited the ’B’ section under the Indipop category wanting to write a review on Bulla Ki Jana by Rabbi (which I couldn’t find on the page), when I suddenly spotted the name of this album near the top of the page. My daughter had bought this a couple of weeks ago, and it’s been playing very frequently in our home as a result of which I have really started liking the songs. I spent a lot of time reading what other MS reviewers had to say about the album. The current celebrity here seems to be Flying Castle with his meticulously detailed write-up that really does justice to the album.

About the album – well, what can I say that hasn’t been said? In a market crowded by stalwarts like Palash, Adnan, Subha Mudgal, Sonu Nigam and Abhijeet, these two newcomers have really left a lasting impact. Kudos to them. Musically, lyrically and melodically they have scored a major victory with this album. Some of the songs have the power to really get inside your head.

Flying Castle has already provided an amazingly detailed song-by-song description, so I will not replicate his efforts. In fact, I find myself agreeing with every observation he has made about the album. However, I would like to share my personal viewpoint about some of the songs that have had a special impact on me. Let me specify that this is relevant as of now only, because as I keep listening to the album, new thoughts and new favourites keep arising. For example, like Flying Castle says, I too did not take a liking to Hum Logon Ka Saath initially. But my daughter would play the album by continuous rotation so I was like listening to this song once every hour. Eventually, I started enjoying it. As soon as you listen in detail, a lot of finer points emerge which makes the song admirable. For example, in this case, the vocal harmonies, the complexities of the rhythm and the energy of the song make it very enjoyable. I think initially you compare it with the other songs, and it does not compare well. But when you focus on it, you appreciate its special strengths.

Let me talk about my favourites.

Barson Huey: This is the best song in whole of the album. Right from the first notes of the guitar, this songs grabs your attention, makes you listen and thrills you with its very deep https://lyrics. This is the Number One reason for listening this album.

Sapno Ka Ek Shahar: Unbelievable melody! Original composition at its best. I think this should become a world famous song if it get the right exposures.

Zindagi: It changes my mood whenever I listen this song. It has best vocals in entire album and lovely beats.

Palkon Pe Tha: Like Flying Castle is saying, this makes you bit sad, but is most artistic song in the album. The music is too good. Vocals by Chandrani are very good also. The words of the song are flowing like poetry of very advanced level.

Mujhe Tumse Kuch Kehna Hai: Very cute innocent love song that appeals by its simplicity and free from ego communication. Sanjo has sung this very well.

Actually, pointing out my favourites is very difficult because in some way or other all are my favourites but if I write like that it will become a copycat of Flying Castle’s review!

I recommend: Yes, get this album, you won’t regret.
