More human hence better

Yes indeed, Christopher Nolan does with Batman Begins what other directors couldn’t manage with fantastic gizmos, incredible soundtracks and even Alicia Silverstone. By spending a good deal of time on the transition from average wronged rich kid to a superhero whose primary weapon does not shoot out from his fingers or pour out of his eyes, but exists in fear. For me Nolan got it just right. For all the Batman fans out there who fell in love with the dark gothic sketches in the comics and remember the fear he etches out in the hearts of people rather than the blurbs on tv aka ’’KAPOW’’, etc. this is a welcome occurence.

Christian Bale takes on the rather daunting task of playing Batman with the maximum time on-screen without the mask. No easy task, when everyone seems to be doing a Vin Diesel. Bale, however, is surrounded by some legends of the industry...Liam Neeson playing the renegade leading the league of Shadows that ’’Burnt London to the ground’’, Michael Caine playing Alfred who becomes pivotal in the transition that the young Bruce Wayne makes and Morgan Freeman, playing Fox, the engineering genius that gave us the Batmobile (Note: This time round the car is a lot more realistic and not just a Diablo with funny wings jutting out’’.

What to look out for: The arrival of Batman amongst the goons and the way Nolan manages to show fear as a weapon in a warehouse sequence...truly Nolan...very Brilliant...

To give Gotham City its shadowy appearance, the director pulls another trick of making a certain vapour the primary weapon of the ’’Enemy’’...do remember the enemy here unlike most other superhero spinoffs...may just have a cause. The result ..Gotham City as a halucination... More accolades for the director.

What not to look out for: Bale is perhaps lacking at times....but let it be...its a director’s movie..

Parting Warning: Do not watch this movie if you like the star world episodes of Batman...its not about the punches, its not about the ’’Holy whatevers’’...its a story about fear, and a child drowned in it, growing up to use it as his biggest ally.

A MUST WATCH FOR OTHERS
