The BCCI now has become a political battle ground, rather than a true cricket controlling body. Such a body will do more harm to the Indian Cricket. And it is true that Saurav’s international cricket career is finished, if the attitude of BCCI remains the same.It is not surprising that Ganguly has been replaced by Wasim Jafar from Mumbai, as the BCCI president, secretary and chairman of Selectors are all from West Zone. It is high time that Sharad Pawar should intervene and stop this menace. A foreigner coach need not be given so much importance that, so on his instructions , the greatest Indian Captain, who is still playing good cricket can be sacked.
The Indian people are not mad, they can very well see what’s going on in the BCCI.- How firstly there was a power change, following which how the three selectors were sacked, and now sacking the greatest ever Indian Captain.
I think One faction of the politicized BCCI is taking revenge on the other faction with using Ganguly as a pawn to settle their scores, thereby doing enormous harm to the Indian Cricket itself and finishing the career of a player of the stature of Ganguly.
Greg Chappel’s theory of giving opportunity to youngsters by dropping such experienced and in-form senior player is just absurd. The second test with Sri lanka recently was stabilized very well for the Indian side only because of Ganguly, and only after he got out, the Indian team collapsed ( These are not my words, they were spoken by no other than Arjuna Ranatunga).Even Dravid is a bit jealous of Ganguly , since he may be thinking that if Ganguly comes back and comes into good form, he may lose his captaincy.
Therefore, summarizing the fact, BCCI Selectors, Greg Chappel and Dravid they all are united to settle their scores, they are BIASED against Saurav. They want him out of team India at any cost with or without any reason.
The present BCCI selection committee is rightly termed by the legend Mohinder Amarnath as a bunch of jokers, they are inefficient , unqualified to be selectors and traitors to the nation. If BCCI, wants that people don’t lose interest in Cricket and they really want to promote Indian cricket, they must immediately sack the Selection Committe headed by Kiran More, and the root cause of all problems-Greg Chappel , and depoliticize the selection process. Ganguly should not only be included in the team India with full honours for ODIs as well as test cricket, he should be again retained the Captaincy of team India.
