While booking the beam cable cable connection with the area agent: Nirmala(cell# 9912224263) from Beam telecom, we inquired that if our NeatGear Switch will work with the beam cable connection. And put this as the only condition for booking the connection. Nirmala confirmed the same will work for sure and booked our connection for Rs. 1600(600 installation and Rs.1000 advance months rental)
While installing, the visiting technician Ahmed(cell# 8897869704) also confirmed the same, though never checked the connection and slipped out before checking the connection or even putting the tape on the wire joints.
After sustained calls, another technician Shoiab(cell# 9666487863) came and told us that the switch wont work and will require another router to be installed. This is clearly in conflict with the promise made by the agent at the time of booking. And we would thereby like to go for a FULL refund of Rs 1600 paid at the time of installation.
On a side note about our suffering:
It took numerous calls even for booking the connection and to call a technician on facing problems required numerous calls and around a weeks time. The behavior on the part of the agent(Nirmala) has been totally unethical and misleading. And the services thereafter have been totally anti-consumerist.
