Hi I like Javed Siddiquis movies. His recent release is Begum Jaan. I went to watch the film on the first weekend of release. It is one of Javed Siddiquis comic and tragedy mixed movie named "Begum Jaan". It has been directed by Nadira Zaheer Babbar. The movie is about the vast and rich Indian culture and heritage which is rarely seen in todays modern world. The film depicts the life of Begum Jaan. She has been shown as the last witness of the bygone era of ancient Indian culture and rich heritage. There are three main characters in this film. One is Begum Jaan who is the main character. Begum jaan has been shown as a very famous classical singer of the past India. She is considered a living legend in her role in the film. The other characters are Begum Jaans granddaughter named Zarina and a journalist Sanjay Pande. There are interpersonal relationships between these three characters. The story or the entire plot is a reflection of India during the pre-independence days to its transformation in its current state through Begum Jaans narration of various events that she had experienced in her life.
The cast performance is however of moderate quality and apart from Begum Jaan, the other two characters do not entertain much. Begum Jaans performance is good. The music and songs are of average quality. No interesting songs or sound track are available. Rather the sound track is somewhat boring. The cinematography is good and modern. The cinematography very well depicts the ancient Indian days and the modern days perfectly. Overall an average film. You can watch it if you have free time or else do not spend money on this film.
