Dear all, I am here to explain my last Sunday visit to Bekal fort. As per available resources said it was constructed by Shivappa Nair in 1650 AD. Bekal fort is located around 16 kilometers away from Kasargod. This fort is spread over 40 acres of land and next to Arabian sea shore. We started from Mangalore. It took around 1 hour by train to reach Bekal.
Bekal has a Railway Station, but only passenger trains halt here. It’s a very nice place visit with family. We can spend 3 to 4 hours. This port working hours are from 8: 30am to 6: 00 pm. If you visited to bekal fort, you can view the tallest and widest outer walls, kandakam streets, tallest watching tower and underground escape routes etc.
Number of buses available from from kasargod and nearest airport is mangalore international airport, a distance of 65 kilomertes. Good option to visit with family.
