Marwaris and outsiders beware

Looting the patients and their relatives.

The initial amount of deposit looks very cheap 30000/- to 40000/-. But they insist on having a large number of investigations, xrays, sonography, endoscopy, ultrasound, ecg, echo, blood tests and what not. They make a simple patient look critical-so that the patient has to stay in hospital longer and the money charges go on increasing everyday and sometimes the patient does not even recover and dies. The patients relatives/friends etc. are allowed to see the patient only between 9.30 am to 11 am and 5.30 pm to 7 pm and that too only one person on a pass in CCU etc and without limit in the rooms on the 5th/6th floor.

The patient becomes a captive of the hospital , the system , the referring doctor, the doctors on duty on the floor and the nurses and the hospital ward and security boys.

The patient is at their mercy all the time.

The patient is normally suffering from something serious in the night(????).

Why???

The fees of the doctors is double treble in the night.

The cost of emergency equipment like respirator, BAPP machine, oxygen, etc. is also double triple in the night.

The staff is mostly local bengali.

There are some nurses from the south and some from the northeast.

But the nurses from south and northeast are subdued by the local bengali nurses who are aggressive towards them and the patients.

Being a "marwari" patient is a big risk.

Those who appear to be marwari even if they are not are also at risk.

There has been a bad mentality towards "Marwaris" and other outsiders in Bengal since a long time.

At one time many of the businessmen and industrailists wanted to move out of Bengal.

That was the time of rise of Naxalism in bengal.

The "Marwaris" are by and large businessmen-"Vyopari" and they are not liked in Bengal which has seen communist rule for a long time and extortion from "marwari" businessmen/women is rampant.

So many of the local staff nurses, ward boys and doctors are having bad feelings and aggressiveness towards Marwaris.

a person perceived to be a marwari even if he/she is not, is likley to be treated badly, rudely, aggressively, with desire and intention to abuse, hurt and torture and extort and "punish" for no fault of the person concerned.

So the patient is hurt and slapped and hands tied and painful procedures done and person subdued to inhuman activities and rough handling, carelessness, indifference and desire to hurt and make suffer in the garb of hospital treatment and procedures and made to go through unnecessary investigations and tests to make the patient suffer pain and torture and become a worse patient at the same time extending stay or likelihood of stay in the hosptial with heavy cutting of the pockets, self respect and human dignity and rights and losing of money by the patient/his/her relatives/friends..

If the doctors in medical college have done ragging of all kinds and dissected dead bodies what could they be doing in the hospital with alive patients(male and female) and "specimens" at their mercy for most of the time during day and night????

Some of the local bengali patients are found to ghet better treatment and less costly treatment.

maybe it is because they are bengalis in bengal.

It is very likley that some of the tests and medicines cost of local bengali patients is recovered from the "marwari" or outside patients by showing the same in their requisitions but the medicines are actually given to the known bengali patients of the bengali nurses, doctors, ward boys etc.(many of whom subscribed to the communist ideology and some may have links to the naxalites or support them) in league to rob the "marwaris" or outsiders, even if the hospital belongs to a marwari family or company..
