I really had high expectations of this movie, considering the fact that I had been trying to buy the tiickets since last weekend, but I was greeted by house full sign. Maybe it was my bad luck or I was never in time.....anyweys that day me and my friend had to soothe ourselves with black forest cake at Baristaa.....
Anywey finally I did manage to watch the movie on VCD.....straining my neck to see whats happening on the samll computer screen.....it was no fun.
The story is about a small sikh family in the UK. Anupam kher is the father of Jess(Jespinder), whos crazy about football and wants to make it big professionally like her Idol David Beckham.
She then meet Jules who introduces her to the womens football team and the handsome coach(joe).
There are certain scenes I found funny, here mom tries to teach her aloo gobi but jess is busy juggling with the vegetables.
The film also potrays our indian society and gossip.....
for instance jess is seen huggin her fren Jules by her sister in-laws to be and they assume it s a guy , because she has boycut hair.
I may be a racist here but I do detest Britishers as I find them snobby . SO I ask whats the big deal about Beckham? He maybe a great footballer but he means nothing to us indians and personally I did not find it appealing that Jess has his picture s in her room or the fact that she falls for the coach , whos a white........
I find it ditasteful and FYI , im not 60 yrs , im only 24(in case you think only old people think like that).
The comedy was not that funny , it was dry. Aupam Kher has done well ....and Jesss mom too.
Other then that , theres nuthin to it all a HYPE.
I got bored half way thru the movie.....
