Chennai being my birth place wherein I grew up makes me feel special to pen a review on this once upon a time pleasant beach that still holds a special place in my memory! As a family we visited the Besant Nagar Church that stands tall on the beach shores every sunday without failand the whole day until late evening went by in splendor. The church was a landmark besides the famous beach which was paradise for family and tourists to come catch some sun and laze around on the clean white shores, swimming and picnicking on the beach was much fun for the locals as well as newbies who throng the city for a sight of the wonderful beach but, I must say that my recent visit to the site made me sad as there was nothing but dirt and crowds, hawkers, garbage, plastic strewn around making this once upon a time beautiful beach a backyard for unnaturalness things. The many restaurants and fast food joint dump their debris on the shores of the sea, cows, buffaloes and unhealthy means now make it a prominent sight other than what is suppose to be serene and divine- I am sure the Besant Nagar beach of today must be weeping tears of sorrow during its ebb and flow on this once beautiful city of joy!
