A daring movie which transcends the limits of a biopic. Its actually not a movie..... You are transported into history. Its real, its live, its raw, it hits you, touches you, makes you laugh, makes you cry and makes you forget that you are watching a movie.
Saw the movie yesterday, but even today whenever I think of the movie, I get goosebumps, lumps in my throat and tears well up in my eyes. When the promos were on, I wast expecting much from a biopic... but hats off to the director - Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra for a Stunning portrayal of Milkhas Story.
Faran Akhtar has played the role of his life time and his performance is outstanding. He is going to be remembered for this role for several generations I think. His transformation from a simple village boy to finally a world class runner was absolutely amazing. The movie is shown in the RDB style with a lot of flash backs and flash forwards but its all blended beautifully. Every scene is handled with complete sensitivity. The scenes of the partition etc have been created very realistically.
Divya Dutta is at her best as Milkhas elder sister. Less words, more acting superbly done.
Pawa Malhotra is another star performer as Milkhas coach.
In fact the list goes on and on....every character has played every role to the hilt and every character is memorable.
Scenes from the Olympics or other meets have been beautifully blended into the movie.
Overall the movie is inspirational, entertaining and moving. It is a must see for every Indian.
