Renowned pilgrim spot in South India, Bhadrachalam a temple town in Andhra Pradesh, is a colourful place where the revered River Godavari winds its path along the vast stretch of sand. Considered as a very sacred place, Bhadrachalam is a radiant town with magnificent temples, which invites thousands of devotees all the year round.


Bhadrachalam, which is believed to have been the platform for various events in the Hindu epic Ramayana, boasts of a scenic landscape that comes alive during the festivities of Ramanavami and the sacred Godavari River, which flows around the town like a shining garland adds to the serene and tranquil ambiance of this historic city. Most of the sacred shrines are situated at or around the banks of the River Godavari.


The banks of River Godavari are not only well known for their sacredness but also as a perfect place to enjoy a pleasant walk. Adding to the whole experience is a River Godavari cruise on a motorboat. An eight-hour journey through the waters of Godavari River, which reflects the surrounding greens add to the boating experience along with spending a night in the tents on the banks of River Godavari.


Bhadrachalam Road station is the nearest railway station, which is also known as Kothagudem and is located just 40 kilometres from the Bhadrachalam town. You can hire a taxi from the railway station that will take you to Bhadrachalam.
