Last year, there was "Khosla ka ghosla". This year, it is "Bheja fry". Two common things between these two movies are - 1). Both are low-budget movies but well-made and 2). Both are simple stories and are meant to tickle your funny bones (like Hrishikesh Mukherjee movies). Talking about "Bheja fry", it gets a thumbs-up! An excellent movie minus starcast is what it is.......and you dont miss stars this time (if you did so in "Khosla ka ghosla" by any chance!) because of one actor - Vinay Pathak. He is fabulous as an idiot. He plays the role of a fool intelligently. He makes you laugh throughout the movie and also makes you emotional towards the end of it. An amazing act! He deserves all the awards for the "best comic actor" category this year. No second thoughts about it! Rajat Kapoor is good here, though not as good as he was in "Corporate".
He is the guy whose life is screwed up in a night by an idiot and he acts well. Ranvir Sheory overacts this time. However, it cant be doubted that he is a good actor. Here, he does make you laugh but not much. Milind Soman is okay. Sarika and Harsh Chhaya are wasted in miniscule roles. The direction is good and to think its the directors debut venture...wow! Ill give it a 3.5 out of 5. Highly recommended!
