This is an exciting movie! I started viewing without any expectation and I must say I have been impressed. The story goes like this. Siddharth is a modern day America-returned king of a old palace. He is back to India with his wife Avni.
He wants to stay in the palace but his uncle (Badri) tries to persuade him for not doing so. He insists that Siddharth must not leave there as it is a haunted one and cursed by ghost of Manjulika. She was a dancer of hundreds of years back, whose lover was killed by then king whom she used to entertain. Since then Majulika cursed any king who ever lived in that palace.
One day Avni and Nandini (Sids sister) suddenly opened the sacred door of hidden rooms in the palace. There after, suspense builds up. Weird incidents starts to happen. Somebody tries to kill Nandini, at night everyone hears the strange voice of Majulika singing songs.... Everyone starts suspecting Radha, who is the daughter of Sids uncle. In the meantime, Sids friend, Aditya tries to uncover the mystery. He is a funny person, and some hilarious scenes to appear in spite of so much suspense.
But the mystery continues... so, who is Manjulika, where from does her soul comes back after hundreds of years?? To know the answer, you need to watch the movie... however, if you want to cheat, please continue reading... :) After you have watched about 70% of the movie, Aditya unfolds the mystery to Sid that Manjulika is none other than his wife, Avni.
She is suffering from multiple personality disorder and because of her troubled past, she assumes a completely different entity and becomes Manjulika. She, in her obsessed mind, tries to kill Sid assuming she is taking revenge on the king. However, Aditya makes a cunning plan by which he is able to bring back Avni in her normal life. The last part is the interesting one. In most other movies, climax is revealed at very end. However, here the director portraits the care how Aditya is actually trying to save Avni with the help of Sid, Radha and everyone else.
