Bhoothnath – It appears that Bollywood Producers and Directors are taking special interest with kids these days. Naturally, why not! They are our future of India. They deserve every attention possible.
After ‘Taare Zameen Per’ by Aamir Khan, Bollywood flick Bhoothnath, directed by Vivek Sharma is another successful kid movie. Amitabh Bachchan as Bhoothnath is in a new avatar. He is the friendly ghost(Angel) in the film. Master Aman Siddiqui as Banku has delivered a power-packed performance. Unfortunately, my favorite Juhi Chawla has done over-acting at many places.
No surprise to see our super-star Sharukh Khan looking pale, tired and non-impressive. Perhaps, he has accepted a side role in this film with lot of reluctance. Any one having any doubts or question about his real height or the mystery of his young looks, well this movie may solve some of them. Watch the scene carefully when he is talking to Bhoothnath’s son(Priyanshu) in Goa near the Church.
Bhoothnath is a story about a naughty kid(son of Sharukh and Juhi in this movie) who is not scared of any one including a ghost(Mr A. Bachchan) residing in the Nath Villa of Goa. After initial skirmish, the ghost and the kid develop friendship and bondage.
Overall, Bhoothnath is a cute family movie. The photography, the direction and song numbers are good. Of course it is not a great action packed movie or a comedy movie but you may want to watch it with your family and kids. I am happy to rate it 3.5 on 5 Stars.
