“Dur hato, dur hato, dur hato ai Aamir, SRK ye Bollywood hamara hai” – Famous song resung by Darshal Seffari and now Aman Siddiqui . So here we have a budding child star carrying away a full Bolly movie. Kudos kids(or have they all grown up).
They say life can never be full of fun. So we have our serious moments in Bhootnath too. While in the first half we have Pop Corns and Cold Drinks falling all over the seats due to laughter in the second you can see Spectacles coming off and handkerchiefs coming out of the pockets. Please carry your own buckets if you want to watch this movie. First to clean the Pop Corn and Cold Drinks you spill all over and secondly to save water and clean your house the next day with it(the tears-men and women alike). And for those who have already seen Baghban may as well see only two third of the movie.
As we noticed in a few posts yesterday, funny moments in life do not last long. Well at last we need to “Start Living” and maybe that’s what Bollywood movies are all about nowdays. Whether it be Krazzy4 or Bhootnath we have a message. Are people trying to make meaningful movies nowdays? Well I don’t mind as I get bits of pieces of genuine humour alongside. So thats what Bhootnath is all about – “Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gum”. Two thirds Khushi and one third Gum(for the Baghban typoes the “Gum” will make you stick to your seats).
To begin with:
PRODUCTION– Ravi Chopra.
DIRECTION- Really good for a debut. Bhootnath is directed by Vivek Sharma, and it is the first time that a director outside the B R Films’ camp is doing it for them.
PLOT – Revealed in detail in other reviews. Anyway, I always believe revealing the plot is murder of the review. What you write otherwise should the indication for the audience. It would have been best had it been restricted to a one-half hrs. comedy. But then producers want Bolly Masala.
SPECIAL EFFECTS – Bollywood movies are getting better day by day but when they know the costs involved are high they do it within the limitations of recovery.
ACTORS -
*SRK – Dont go to watch the movie just because of him. He’s been added just to convey to the people in India that “Friends Romans(Sorry Indians) and countrymen all is fine between the two big stars in the Bollywood sky.”
Juhi Chawla – As effervescent as ever. Well there are many of us who can just see a movie because they just want to listen to her sweet giggles. No regrets, shes her usual self. Though themovie is not about her.
Satish Shah – Getting stereotype at times but can still make you laugh. The “Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi” effect is still on.
Priyanshu Chatterjee – Not much to contribute in this movie.
Rajpal Yadav – His typical comical types. Makes the children laugh aloud and elders smile.
Amitabh BACHPAN – Well he does become Amitabh Bachpan in this movie and what a success this man is. Give him any role and he can live upto it. Make him play with Aman Siddiqui or Tabu or Jiah Khan he can rise to the occasion. That’s why some people are irreplaceable and so is “BIG-BHOOTNATH”.
Aman Siddiqui – Well if you like cute kids you will love him in this movie. Kids are getting smarter now days and Aman could lead the pack in days to come. He comes up with a stellar performance. His moments with the Bhoot and principal are Kodak moments – Capture, recall and smile.
Javed Akhtar is believed to have persuaded director Vivek Sharma to change the climax of Bhootnath from sad to happy, so that he can make a Bhootnath sequel later. The writer-lyricist could forsee a sequel to the film and thus advised Vivek to change the ending. (Source-Movietalkies). So at the end of the movie you see – TO BE CONTINUED. Well we all look forward to the sequel with our fingers crossed.
For those who have kids please see and show them this movie and for those who don’t please see and learn what it takes to be a Kid with the Kids.
