The latest Big Bazaar Ad says Margin Free - We make no profit, you make all gains(21 July 2007- 27 July 2007).
I had visited Big Bazaar just before the scheme, so I thought I should go again. After all the ad said they were NOT making ANY PROFIT!
I was a happy to see the posters around every corner street and even on double road and the whole Big Bazaar was decorated 100s of the poster which said that they were not making any profits and gave you all the gains.
To my surprise, the so called offer was valid only on a very few items. It was NO WHERE WRITTEN THAT THE OFFER WAS VALID ON SELECTED ITEMS ONLY. 100s of posters on the two storeyed big building of Double Road Bangalore Big Bazaar, but I could not see a single poster that said the offer is valid on selected items.
Another fact I noticed was that prices on most items that had discounts/offers were same as they were before they had put up "NO MARGIN" posters when I had visited them previously. So to say, many of the items during the 50% offer before this "NO MARGIN" offer was actually costing more than it was costing before the 50% offer earlier.
For many of the articles, price of the product had been shown raised and shown with a discounted offer.
However, based on my experience "NO MARGIN" is getting cheating they had ever done till now.
CONCLUSION: Whenever they advertise heavily about any offers, then more people will rush in and prices tend to be much more actually than when they advertise less.
