BAZAAR!!!!!BIG BAZAAR!!!!!!Thats the name, n just the name.The one at mulund used to be a three floor store but now the three floor is cramped to two floors making it appear not less than a fish market on any day n forget the weekends.
NOW LETS TALK ABOUT ’’THE STAFF’’. If some one asks me to rate them ill rate them as DANGEROUS n I can tell u why.I hade gone with my mother to get to get the monthly households as usual.earlier I used to pay by cash.But that day GOD KNOWS WHY I decided to use my debit card.I had to pay Rs 2266.The guy at the billing counter swiped my debit card entered 22 , when his swipe machine had some problem the paper was stuck.somehow he did some thing n he got a memo of only Rs 22 i.e only Rs22 was the amout withdrawn .so he told me he’ll have to again swipe my card the for the remaining amount.so Rs2266-Rs 22=Rs2244 had to be billed.he again swiped my card entered 2244 n again something went wrong with the swipe machine, so he went to look for his senior, the guys moving around with a ’’may I help u tags.’’(In this time my mind was going like aaaaaaaaaaaarghhh what the hell is going on here, y did I use my card n all....)The senior arrives does something with the machine n asks the billing guy to swipe again.This was too much now n I interrupt n ask them are they sure that I wont be billed twice if they keep swiping like this.the senior assures me it wont.i have no option but to trust him n let him proceed, coz I was not even carrying that much cash.Finally its all done n im out of this card swiping mania n reach home.My mind is still not a peace but, as they say a females intution is very strong I feel something is wrong, but for the moment I dont ca re about it.I forget about this whole thing.
After about a week I call my phone banking service to check for my account balance. .To my horror I have lost an extra Rs2244.I felt like killing that billing guy.i run to the atm check the balance again.same thing.i get a mini statement n I see Rs 2244 deducted twice.I go to the bank if they could help me or do something.They tell me that these transactions between Hdfc n big bazaar is done via VISA n that I have to get a letter from big bazar that they agree its a wrong transaction only then they can help me.
I go home call up big bazar n tell them about this n ask them to pay me back the amount.They tell me I have to approach my bank. when I tell them I need this letter from them they seem to pay no heed to my problem n make excuses, ask me call up later as ther head official was not available then.this thing goes for another day.I call n they make excuses.I had no idea what to do neither my bank nor these irresponsible people were going to help me.i dint kw shud I make a police complain or what.
Finally I decide to give a personal visit to the officials at big bazaar.Im completely in a mood to hit anybody coming my way , furious about this entire thing.Luckily I have the bill still with me, i take that I have my mini statement.My fiancee accompnies me mayb coz even he must be sure that ill bash somebody for sure today.My mind I clear like im on some mission.I say to myself if these people not givin my money bak ill get the hell out of them, police complaint, an article in the local news paper whatever possible I could do.
I go to the Adminstration office showed them my bill n the mini statement n my face said more I guess.The guy asks me to wait , they discuss something n he comes n tells me they are ready to pay me in cash WITHOUT ASKIN ME ANYTHING ELSE FURTHER..im more than happy.i tell tem to 1st train their staff to use a swipe machine n then put them on looting people.I got my money...MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
SO MY TIPS BEFORE YOU VISIT BIG BAZAAR
1)Decide if u r really want to buy something here.
2)U have decided n u r buying, BEWARE before you pay your bill with a debit card.(all at your own risk)
3)Preserve your bill if you have paid with a debit card ....then go home n check your balance 1st
4)Shocked!!! Now dont waste time running to your bank or callin up big bazaar just directly go to their office with the papers ........give them a good attitude.......if more is required threaten them u’ll sue them or make a big issue of this.
WHAT I LEARNT FROM THIS EXPERIENCE:
1)IF YOU FACE THIS SITUATION, THAT YOUR CARD NEEDS TO BE SWIPED AGAIN DUE TO MACHINE TROUBLE B SURE THE LAST TRANSACTION IS CANCELLED FIRST( THERE IS A CANCEL BUTTON ON THE SWIPE MACHINE)
2)ACT SMARTLY.
3) DONT GIVE UP EASILY.ALWAYS STAND FOR YOUR RIGHTS.
