I awaited the 2nd big brother very excitedly after the excellent, very addictive 1st series that entertained me all last summer! Usually the TV gets worse in the summer but this certianly livens it up! Channel 4 has probably never seen such high ratings as big brother 1 gave them, and are probably hoping for the same from this one.
Im not sure if there is anyone who doesnt know how this work sbut it goes like this: there are 10 people put into a house in a secret location for 10 weeks. They have to complete a task to up their shopping total, at the moment they have to keep the fire alight for 120 hours?! After 10 days they have the first nominations - this involves them all voting out 1 person in secret. Then the ones with the most votes are put to the public to vote on. This continues until there are only 3 people left and then the public vote on the winner. The only difference with big brother 2 is that once the first person has gone a new person come in, again voted in my the public. The winner takes home £70, 000, a pitiful amount compared to survivor!
The characters are as follows:
1 - Amma - Table dancer, seems like a real bitch to me! Even says she is!
2 - Brian - Cabin Crew Supervisor. Gay, very very gay! Seems fun though.
1 - Bubbles - Works for an Insurance company. A really strange one, very over excitable and just plain wierd!
3 - Dean - Owns an internet company, 37 with a family.
4 - Elizabeth - Website Designer. Has a boyfriend old enough to be her dad! Seems quite boring and dull.
5 - Helen - Hairdresser, from Gwent, seems fun and lively
6 - Narinder - Medical career.
7 - Paul - Designer, seems a bit boring.
8 - Penny - English teacher, does everything for the house! Seems quite bossy and domineering.
9 - Stuart - Director of a company. Bit bossy.
The bad points>>>
It is very predictable, they have modelled it to much on the first one, the style of the house (although bigger and posher!), the characters have very similar characteristics to the first i.e there is a nick a caroline etc. Except if this is possible they are even wierder, probably in an attempt to keep ratings high and try and get good stories. Too high expectations mean that we will not be satisfied with normal goings on.
The good points>>>
You all know it will be very addictive and will watch it daily and check up on it on the internet and on E4! Good fun to watch, gets you involved with the voting - better than survivor anyway! It is more realistic than soem of the game shows on tv and therefore you can identify more with the situation.
You know you will be watching it all summer and will love it after a while!
