I got a big TV set top box and put an installation request. The dealer told me he has the installation completed within 24 hrs for many customers and I’ld be called within 2 hrs for the same.
When I didn’t receive a call after even 2 days(shameful), I headed to the customer care. I got a line after trying just 35 times. Meanwhile, it was disconnected(or I suspect intentionally so) amid conversation twice so that to add to my panic, I had to explain everything thrice.
Again they committed call of their technician within 2 hrs. Again after 2 days, I had to repeat the whole process. Thankfully, they came just on the 6th day.
Ridiculously, the technician couldn’t tune the signal even after trying for 3 hrs in my balcony. Roof mounting was not permitted as all 12 roofs in my lane are inter connected and the cable operator has his access to the roof(He is so cunning that he would have definitely got the antenna stollen). Finally, he asked me for a ladder to fix the antenna on the wall alongside. I had not got any(should I?). So they decided to return. I read the terms & conditions and asked for the certification for money refund. Surprisingly, they didn’t had one.
Afterwards, I can’t explain how much I had to wander to get the money back, but thank God, I got it back.
*And for all the people who have ranked BIG TV as good:
*Reception isn’t alone an issue, the other more important issues are after service and support. I remind all u people that Big TV has also negative reports regarding its Set Top boxes. Many of them Have been found hanging.
*And on the same place where Big TV signal was not coming, I got "Airtel DTH" installed just within 12 hrs of request. Airtel DTH hasn’t been launched commercially. I got it as "Friends & family offer" referred by my friend who is an Airtel employee.
And I must say, what a nice service and package they(AIRTEL) are providing.
I would suggest to wait for a month for the AIRTEL DTH to be launched commercially. Currently I’m getting a nice package of 123 channels but I don’t know how much it will cost after the commercial launch. Let’s hope for the best.
