After having read all the aweful comments on BigFlix, I was in two minds as to whether I should go for it or not. Nevertheless, I decided to go ahead and subscribe - the 40% discount for ICICI customers made it a steal deal too. I opted for a 1 disc at a time, annual plan.
The big hurdle here is that if you did not select the discounted plan, there is no way you can change it later before you authorize payment. The trick - create yourself another User ID and select the discounted plan.
Now for the service - the membership ID was generated online immediately after the payment was made online. That very evening, I picked up a DVD from the nearest BigFlix store in Pune. They did not have a large stock of discs so I made my choice from whatever was there.
Later, I stacked up some 30 titles on the queue - this is a neat feature and works great, except that it takes a while to re-arrange your queue. I then requested for a pickup of my disc 2 days later and have been picking up discs almost every alternate day. The quality of discs was great - all original and very good quality, unlike the ones you get from local rent-a-movie libraries.
The logistics was also well arranged. The delivery guys pick up the first disc and deliver the next one at the same time. The delivery guy was also courteous to oblige on my request to deliver after 7:30 pm on weekdays - a neat option for working people.Overall, I would rate BigFlix big on whatever experience I have with these guys - BigFlix rocks.Their logistics is of very high order atleast in Pune.
