Is Bill Desk the worst service provider?

Billdesk has some degree of monopoly of billing system in India. My experience with them has been uniformaly bad. Hope readers and more importantly the service providers like Banks, Insurance Companies read this and pull them up for deficiency of service.


So here are the issues: Frequently miss bill payment. Mail id acard@billdesk.com is of no use. You have to send them reminders and be abusive to get a response. Third, if you call their helpdesk number 022 40920015, you get inadequate and incorrect response.


My personal feeling is that most of them are ill trained simpletons, not conversant with English and frequently will switch to Hindi and so on. Fourth on almost all Sundays that I have tried to use their site for payment, it does not work. Citibank cards used to have them for payment and I could never do the online payment on Sunday.


This week, I saw Citi has switched to their own bank payment mechanism. Hope this is due to their payment deficiency. I sincerely hope Amex Credit Card switches them off as well. That is where I have suffered the most. Be careful if you are authorizing your bank or credit card company for bills payment if it uses billdesk. Hope other banks also move away from them.
