I booked a maruti A star from Bimal on the first day I went to the showroom on the assurance that I would be given one in a baige interior within 2 weeks. They also gave me a final figure for the total cost of the car including accessories/insurance/extended warranty. However, I received a call from the sales person in two days that the one in grey interiors would cost be 15k lesser. So I decided to change my mind to a one with grey interiors.
A week later after I made the down payment I was informed that the one in grey interior is not available and I have to go with the one in baige interior and pay more. I would not have minded paying more in case they had not offered me the one in grey interiors with a reduced price.
A word of advice: Dont fall for the discount price. The discounts are adjusted every month after the prices are revised. For example, if a car is available at Rs 4.5 lacs in month and a discount of Rs 10k is offered on it, the following month the price of the car might increase in Rs 4.6lac and the discount offered would be Rs 20k. effectively the price remains the same just that it looks more attractive.
