I never seem to have any success with hair products at all. I’m the cursed witch of the hair care spectrum, to tell you the truth. Failure after failure after failure leaves me roaming the malls for the perfect shampoo, the perfect conditioner - none of which I have stumbled across so far.
Introduction
That, however, is not my point. Since I was having no luck finding a good shampoo or conditioner, I decided to give a serum or gel a try. I walked into the store and was looking around in the haircare section, when the salesperson came upto me and started babbling about BioSilk Therapy serum by Farouk Systems USA. Despite the fact that I wasn’t falling for her marketing techniques, I decided to give it a try.
Since then, I’ve been hooked. Let me describe it for you.
Description
The serum is a transparent liquid with a slightly thicker consistency than water, rather like baby oil - but not oily at all! You put a pea-sized amount in your palms, and just smooth it onto your hair. It feels like sheer silk! I’m not kidding - it feels like you’re rubbing your hands over some kind of luxurious fabric. I don’t know quite how else to describe it, but it’s wonderful. Never in my entire life had my hair felt that smooth.
The serum also added a lot of well-deserved shine to my hair. Whichever angle I look at my hair from now, it always looks soft and shiny, just how I like it. :)
Let me run down a few of the other things...
Attractiveness
The bottle is small - about as long as the average man’s palm, and about half as thin. It holds 150 mL of serum (that’s 5.64 fl. oz). The bottle itself is clear (no colours) and translucent, with one side curved and the other straight. Very pretty to look at, and very minimalist.
The serum can be poured out of a normal press-top cap. Just press down on one side, a little spout opens on the other side, and pour away.
On counts of fragrance, the serum smells wonderful! I don’t know quite how to describe it, but it smells slightly flowery and very exotic. Nice all in all.
Other
The serum can be used on dry hair, wet hair, or even skin. I found that it is most effective when used on dry hair, and as for skin, I have tried it a couple of times, but it doesn’t do much except make your skin very soft. No moisturizing or anything of the sort.
The only negative comment I have to make about this product is that it is slightly expensive - a little too much, in my opinion, for such a small bottle. I guess that’s the price you have to pay for a miracle product. ;)
On the other hand, I have had this bottle for at least three weeks and have not even used up a quarter of it because you only need to use small quantities. I guess it all evens out in the end, then.
Advice
You should use this product if you have dry, frizzy, or dull hair, and especially if you like to blow dry your hair. The serum really helps condition your hair without making it greasy, and it also makes it very soft and shiny.
