I have been to Birla Temple several times. It is one of the most favorite tourist destination of Hyderabad. It is built on a small hill, not far from the famous Hussain Sagar Lake. You have to ride steps to reach to the main temple. The temple and flooring is made of white marvel which makes it very beautiful. One can purchase offerings(BHOGA) from near the entrance gate or inside the temple After darshan one can spend some tie at the top as you can have a panoramic view of part of the Hyderabad, especially Hussain Sagar area. The priest are not’greedy’ as in some other temples. There are few shops inside temple complex from where you can purchase different devotional items, photos of Gods/Goddesses), prasadam and other presentable items. Above all it has a spiritual atmosphere, well managed plantations, and security system.
In one line: It is worth to visit!
