I LOVED the movie.. It is a documentary narrated in an interesting way.. There is a constant toggle on the chronologicle clock.. But the movie never lost its tempo.. It has, as rightly claims, brought into light many things.. Tight script, good direction, great performance by most of the actors.. but still there is something nagging me about the whole movie..It is not the technicality of the movie..
It is pure relevance of the whole movie, for current times.. We (I mean India) is a great Economic Power at the moment and all the developed countries are looking at us for investment as well as for our contribution to world economy..But we are also a country inhabited by over a billion herd (No offense meant, and in a way I am part of this) mentality individuals (I do not mean every one of us, but most).. In times of peace and prosperity like now, what is the real use of stirring the bitterness that we went through in the past??
For a rational, mature, not-so-fanatic indian this is a great chance to see more or less the right side.. But for an average fanatic, it might remind the bitterness and might stir a not-so-pleasant religious cauldron which is not really called for in these times of growth! Truth is never without a time dimension and in the current times it is better to keep it dormant and let the peace prosper!!
I might sound very alarmed, but given the DELICATE & WONDERFUL religious balance that we have and my love for my country, I prefer to send a message to retain our religious integrity.. Jai Hind!
