You think you have made a good choice. This is how you feel when you buy a new Blackberry (BB) and hold it in your hand. All is well till the point you need some servicing for your phone. The hardware service of the BB is pathetic. I really wonder how can a company with such a high repute do a blunder like this. I am repenting my decision of buying this and am close to making a resolution of not buying this stupid device again ever.. there are other good devices in market.
I bought a BB 8520 Curve from Univercell and was happy with the basic feature that I was using. After some days I realized that the front panel was of low quality and it got warped. This was clearly a manufacturing defect and after looking for long for a service center I finally gave the phone to the Airtel customer care. The great Airtel customer care gave me an estimate of generous 10 days for resolving the issue. Though they gave me a BB7100 but tell me when I am using curve why will I accept as embarrassing device as 7100. But because they had to call me back on the same number I accepted the device. I did not get any call from them regarding the status of my phone. I have a prepaid plan and it seems they have no way to track a request of prepaid plan (???) strange but true.
Finally on the 7th day I got a call that I can collect my BB curve. Sounded like music to my ears. Went to collect the phone and when I started using it. I realized the voice receiving quality has gone down considerably. Earlier the voice which used to come crystal clear sound like a echoing and unclear voice.
I really do not have patience to carry that transistor (BB7100) and follow up with Airtel people about the phone. So I would recommend everyone to avoid the BB purchase in India because its service in India is pathetic.
